Sustainable beekeeping relies on ethical beekeepers that address the multiple threats to the honeybee colony: pests, predators, chemicals, inadequate management practices, climate change, and other stressors. Ethical beekeeping means going beyond the bee yard and examining the surrounding environment. By doing this we play a pivotal role in promoting honey bee health, sustaining our local ecosystem, and producing unparalleled artisan quality honey. We do our best to ensure our bees survival – we will not exploit them for a maximum yield.

The honey is not harvested until the bees dehydrate the honey and we ensure we have left enough honey in the hives to feed the bees throughout the winter. Our honey is always kept in a raw, natural state. Honey that has been harvested too early may contain too much moisture. We always wait the longest time possible to extract any honey. We need to ensure that each frame is properly capped before extraction. This method keeps the honey raw, and protects the quality of the honey.
